My 07 has the rear dvd and just the standard cd player all in the front dash, no navigation.

My question is this. If I add an aftermarket dvd or navigation to the dash how will I play dvds in the rear? When you remove the factory unit it takes away both the dvd insert and the cd insert????

Will it be possible to play a dvd in the rear and a cd at the same time using the headphones with an aftermarket dvd/nav unit in the dash?

Any and all help, experiences, knowledge, and product examples will be great. Thank you very much in advance.

I know this isn't a Tahoe site but the might be able to help since the components are the same. Look through the thread list and see if something pops out.

Hope this helps.

On my 05 I had a stand alone dvd player installed for the front nav screen and they wired it into the rear screen via the rca jacks that were located on the bottom of the rear factory dvd player. I would assume that they could wire it in the same way.

On my 07 Tahoe I replaced the same setup you have with a Kenwood 6019/nav. With the PAC steering wheel adapter you won't lose the steering wheel controls but I did loose everything in the rear, for now anyways. We're going to attempt to wire the Panasonic flip down on Friday. I attempted to do this myself a couple weeks ago and failed. Hopefully the Flip down isn't databus. If so, we'll have to wait on someone to release an adapter, if ever.

It may be possible to use the same PAC steering wheel adapter on the rear center console radio controls. You will loose the headphone jacks back there though.

You'll just have to get over loosing certain things in favor of the increased features you receive with an after market radio setup.

yes it should be possible because ur head phones are infared and there is most likely a IR transmitter somewhere around ur overhead that transmits the audio signal to ur headphones...

I think he's referring to the headphone jacks located on the center/rear console.

I have a 07 LT2 no front Nav. or DVD in rear. I just picked up the front unit. I want to getthe factory rear so they will both work together. Obviously I need a wiring harness? Can some one tell me what i need ?
