I just bought a 2006 Monte Carlo LT3 and can not get the remote start or keyless entry to work from more then 15 feet away, the book says it's supposed to work from 200 feet. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? The dealer says there is no update at this time for the Monte Carlo like there is for the Impala

my 06 ss is the same way.if you go to the dealer they will fix it.gm wont issue a tsb because the monte is dead.but the impala is the same and gm is fixing those. it also makes my inflation gauge send false readings.

went to the dealer on friday and they said there is nothing they can do until chevy puts out an updated part they said the parts for the impala are not the same. they said they would call me all the while im thinking "yeah right" how did you get yours fixed?

To use the remote starter you have to lock the door first, then start the car.  In the book it tells you the range to lock the door is 20 feet  Therefore you can only start it from 20 feet away, even though the range to start it is supposed to be up to 195 feet.

Here is what the book says exactly...

"The vehicle's doors can be locked and unlocked, and the trunk can be unlatched from about 3 feet (1m) up to 65 feet (20m) away with the remote keyless entry transmitter.

If your vehicle has the remote start feature you can also start your vehicle with the remote keyless transmitter. Your remote keyless entry transmitter, with the remote start button, provides an increased range of 195 feet (60m) away."

Either way I should be able to start it from my front door wich is about 20 feet from the car. The way it is now I have to get within 10 to 5 feet before it will do anything

ya thats not right...mine works for the dealership to the parking lot which is about 200 feet, or from my basement to driveway, or anywhere within couple hundred feet, sometimes I have to stand just outside the door depending on where I parked....hold it to under your chin...beleive it or not you will get an extra 10-20 feet.....weird

Does anyone have any idea on how I can get the dealership I bought this car from to repair this problem without giving me the run around? Seems they are just trying to buy time until the bumper to bumper is expired. just my opinion
