The turn signals on my 2002 Malibu don't always work when I attempt to signal a turn. I have checked to ensure the fuse and flasher relay are fully plugged in. All of the turn signal bulbs are working. The hazard flashers work. I have been able to force the turn signal to work by pressing the hazard flasher button while the turn signal lever is either in the right or left position and then pressing the hazard button again to turn them off. Any suggestions???

Replace the hazard flashers, that should fix the problem.

Mine does the same thing. Chevy has issued a recall on the 2002 Malibu for this problem. Check with your dealer.

I had a similar problem on a 1996 Thhoe. Had to replace the Turn signal switch assembly.

I have a similar problem with my 2002 Malibu. The turn signals and flashers do not turn off. Brought the car to the dealer and had the flasher unit replaced under the service letter. When I left the lot, I immediately saw that this did NOT correct the problem. However, now the dealer wants me to pay for a diagnostic. GM tells me that the car is no longer under warentee and that there is nothing that they can do until I get and pay for the diagnosis. A review of some internet posts indicates that this is very common and the the fix involves replacing the multi-function switch (over $300 in parts and labor). Wonderful! GM cons the NHTSA into dropping the recall investigation by offering a free fix but the fix does nothing.
