This truck is loaded. From the factory it came with the 7.4 litre /454 cu. inch Vortec engine and electronic shift-on-the-fly 4WD. Leather interior, power everything and front and rear AC.
I bought it from a doctor in Potomac that used it on snow days and to tow his custom Corvette so with 80K miles this truck's just getting broken in. In addition to being totally optioned out from the factory below is a list of more modifications.
Whipple Supercharger running 6 lbs. boost.
Cowl induction hood.
Chrome front bumper ready for foglights.
Boost and Air/Fuel Ratio guages mounted on the A pillar.
Electric sunroof/moonroof.
2 sets of aftermarket wheels with Michelin LTX tires mounted.
Gibson cat-back exhaust.
Cradle and antenna for XM radio.
Navigation system.
Viper alarm with remote start.
Full set of Husky floor liner.
Trailer brake controller.
If the supercharger is too much for you or you want to use it on another project I have all the parts to put the truck back to stock. This includes the OE hood and front bumper and don't forget 2 sets of wheels and tires. You can see both sets in my pictures here:
http://charlesstockton.com/images/98sub/ If you need a truck to tow or drive in the snow this is it. I've towed my 10,000 lb dual axle car trailer and it's like it's not even there and last winter I took it into a new housing development that hadn't been plowed. I stopped the truck on a driveway with a 35 degree up angle and 2 feet of fresh snow. Put it in 4 low and chugged right up the rest of the driveway. No problem.
Issues:
The computer that came with the supercharger stopped working. I determined that all it did was sense when the engine went into boost so it could activate another box that sent more voltage to the fuel pump so it would pump more fuel. My solution was to use a Hobbs switch and a Vortech FMU. I also installed a brand new OE fuel pump and sending unit. It works just as well and was a lot cheaper than getting the computer from Whipple. If you want the Whipple setup it's not a problem I still have all the parts.
Left front outside door handle trim is loose. I keep forgetting to go buy the part.
Little ding in the rear tailgate. The doctor did it not me.
