1997 Chevy that seems like the fuel pump is going out. At times the engine will not start and I checked to find that I had good spark, so I'm pretty sure it's not electrical. I figured I'd change the fuel filter first to be safe, so as I was changing the filter, I turned the key to see that the pump was working...had good flow at filter and even at intake. Any ideas? Thinking of getting a pressure gauge from Autozone to check pressure...thoughts on where the pressure should be? Any help would be appreciated!!! Fuel pressure regulator possibly...?

I've had to replace the fuel pump in My '96 tahoe and My '93 K1500. The engine was getting fuel but would not run above a high idle on the K1500. Tested the return and it was only holding 15 psi. New pump fixed it. The tahoe was running poorly and I ran the codes and it coded for fuel system. It didn't have much gas in it so I decided to go ahead and replace the pump. Then it wouldn't start. Hmmmm. Got a bad pump from the Zone. It was even a name brand. Went to Chevy and bought a new one, put it in and like magic....problem fixed. I know a lot of people with these trucks and fuel pumps are a problem area. Good luck.
