1995 Monte Carlo Speedometer

The speedometer on my 1995 Monte Carlo quit working normally. Though when I push hard on the plastic covering in certain spots the needle will go up to the correct mph and the odometer starts rolling. When I quit pushing on the cover the mph drops back to the needle stop below 0 and the odometer quits rolling.

Any idea what's wrong and how I can fix it cheaply?

sounds like the board on the back is loose when you push it makes enuf contact to wrk again. you have to take out the dash pod and try to see if anything is loose.
