07 Tahoe Driver Side Mirror

I have had my 07 Tahoe LT3 into the dealer for excessive vibration in the driver side mirror. They have replaced the mirror and it still vibrates. Anyone else have this problem. I called the dealer back to let them know it still vibrates and they basically told me that I will have to live with it. Before I go back to the dealer, is there anyone else dealing with the same issue?? Thanks!!!!!!!

Yes, I have it on mine (wifey's) also. We haven't taken it to the dealer yet, but it is a pain. I've tried moving it all the way each way to lock it down, put the mirrors all the way in, and have pushed on the glass to get it to seat better because they snap in. Nothing has worked. We plan on taking it to the dealer soon.

Outside rearview mirror vibration problems can usually be linked to one of the following anomalies:
1. Airflow off the outer edge of bug-shield (if installed).
2. On power folding mirrors the mirror may simply need to be recycled (folded and unfolded 3 times consecutively)
3. Tire/wheel that is out of balance (in this case most likely the left front).
4. Lose or broken internal mirror assembly.

No vibration issue here on my LTZ.

Mine almost makes me sick it vibrates so much. I will try the recycle the mirrors trick and see if that helps.

If recycling the mirror does not fix the problem have your dealer take a look at Service Bulletin Document ID# 1852141 That reads:
Condition
Some customers may comment that the left outside mirror glass shakes or flutters at normal driving speeds.
Cause
• The mirror may have been accidentally pushed in manually or obstructed while folding.
• The mirror actuator screws may be loose, allowing the mirror to move.
• The metal spring may not have enough tension to hold the mirror from moving.
Correction
Follow the procedure below to correct this condition.
The power folding mirrors should be cycled three times to relearn position. Then perform a road test and check the mirror glass for stability. If stability is not fixed, proceed to step 2.
Remove the mirror glass. Refer to Mirror Face Replacement in SI.
Check the torque on the four retaining screws on the actuator.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.13-1.6 N·m (10-14 lb in).
Bend the metal spring up to increase tension engagement to the mirror housing 13 mm (1/2 in).
Install the glass assembly by pressing firmly, taking care not to allow the spring finger to unseat from its intended track in the mirror housing. Road test the vehicle. If stability is not improved, replace the mirror assembly. Refer to Power Mirror Replacement in SI.

Thanks everyone for all of the advice. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. I've printed off this thread and am faxing it to my service rep. I will let you all know the outcome. Thanks again!!!

UPDATE ON THE MIRROR ISSUE.................I took the Tahoe to the dealer today with a print out of this thread. He attempted all repairs as suggested including wheel balancing and the TSB regarding this issue. Unfortunately, the issue is still there. Our service rep knew I was coming in and had the regional service manager from GM come out to take a look at the issue. The bottom line is that they agree that there is an issue and have ordered another replacement. The GM rep wants to keep my case open until it is resolved. All I can say is I think they are giving it an honest shot at solving the issue. They may come to the resolution that they don't know what's causing it or what the fix is but I have been more than pleased with the response I have been given so far. I will keep everyone posted on the resolution when it is available. If we could just fix this issue, then the 07 Tahoe would be perfect!!!!

ZX110F1, since youre the GM guy, I have a question for you.
I want to change mine to power folding mirrors, is there a kit available to do this conversion?

There is not a kit available through GM for this conversion but you can purchase the parts separately to accomplish the mission.
Just be forewarned that the pieces will come to well over $1k at your favorite GM parts counter, you may want to keep your eyes peeled for a wrecked 2007 GMT900 vehicle that you can strip.

Believe it or not, cycling mine 3 times resolved my vibration. Previously I only did it twice and that wasn't enough. Something magical about doing it 3 times!

On my 05 Suburban I had Camper mirrors, Is there a way to get those for my 07 LTZ?

The camper mirrors are not offered yet, but as soon as the new GMT900 pick-up's are released the camper mirror from that unit will work on the SUV's and you can do the swap.

Thanks ZX... Would the switch that folds them in now extend them? or would I have to get a new cluster of switches also?

The power extension feature is gone (too many problems) you'll have to pull them out manually.

Angel:
I have the folding mirrors and want the camper mirrors. I'd be willing to sell you mine as soon as the camper mirrors are available for my truck. The only thing is they are already painted Bermuda Blue.

ZX- I actually ordered a white Suburban but when it came in my Tahoe was in the showroom. I had to have it. I love the color. I'm kinda missing the room and power but I love the ride and sporty feel of the Tahoe!
