I ordered a different grille for my Tahoe, supposably a fatter bar grille. I dont really want to keep my old grille sitting around. I will sell it cheap if anyone is interested! I did get it off ebay and paid around 85 for it. I will take significantly less. It isnt the best quality in the world, but is decent! It shows some wear and is obviously used. However, it will definately look better than stock.
By the way, it is a bolt over grille. It takes about 15 minutes to slap on! You have to take nothing off your current grille. Very easy to install. If I cant find the instructions I can help you along on the install. HOwever it is very simple and you would probably figure it out without needing help.
Make me an offer!

I dont have my new one yet. HOwever, I ordered a Precision Design Phat Billet Grille!
To be honest, I had a very hard time switching. For the money the one i have looks ok. Especially from a distance! I just couldnt see paying a lot more for a grille that I may not even like better. Also, the one I just ordered is the cutout style. So I have to chop the factory grille, I am not very excited about that either. However, new one on the way so going to pawn the old one. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.

Bigg,
Of course I wont forget! However, I might decide not to show them if it looks worse! Haha.
What did you decide on the handles?

Before you chop out your OEM grill, take a close look at what appears to be tabs holding the cross-mesh portion in. It sort of looks like it snaps in. If so, you might not need to take the butcher knife to it. Oh yeah, that's the steering wheel emblem.

I think you have to take the butcher knife to it now matter what. I think you have to trim all the old grille out. Leaving only a 1/8 lip. I think this lip helps support the aftermarket grille and keeps it in place and keeps it from falling all the way through the grille area! I think it is a support issue! I wish I wouldnt have to cut it.
I wont have my new one until next week. I will quickly determine whether or not I like it!

You're probably right. I couldn't tell without taking the whole grill out to really see what those tabs were doing.
Be interesting to see what your new one looks like. Passed one on the street that had fewer bars and I guess they were a little thicker. Didn't like it as well.
BTW, have you seen the new Navigator? It would be hard to put any more chrome on that beast!

Biglg,
I decided I am going to resale the handles on ebay. I just have not gotten around to putting them on there yet.

Only seen the navigator on tv! I like them.
SO shark have you taken the entire
front grille section out? I would like to know how to remove the entire grille section so it is easier to cut it out. Removing it and not trying to cut it while it is on the vehicle would be a huge benefit.

No. Remember I have the same overlay grill that you are getting rid of.
From what I've read of some mfg instructions, they all recommend protecting adjacent surfaces when cutting out the grill. You're probably right about taking it out. Would make it easier. That's why I'm interested in the purpose of the tabs.

Looks good Big. How long did the install take?

Dont ask, haha. No, I didnt really time it and I did some other things while working on it.
I would guess that removing the factory grille, cutting out the honey comb sections, cleaning it up, installin the new grille, and then mounting it back on the vehicle took 2-3 hours. If I were to do another one I could for sure do it in under 2 hours. I ran into several problems. Hell, I had problems before i started, I couldnt figure out how to get the factory grille out! The pictures dont do justice. Having a NON overlay looks 100% better. The overlays isnt near as appealing.

The first time is always double the time. The good thing you got it done and it looks great. Did you have to butcher your factory grill to remove it?

Yep, had to chop up the factory grille. Just the honey comb sections. I cut them out with a dremel too!

I am sure you would not ever want to go back to stock, I was just curious.
P.S. I love the tennis ball hanging from the ceiling in your garage. I bought a laser designed to do the same thing (The red dot is too small) and I have to say the tennis ball is much better.

Anyone, $40 shipped? I hate to give it away, nor do I want to just throw it away or have it sitting around!

Just thought it would be easier to pick it up from you if you were close! My wife wants a grille for her Hoe and I am going to go ahead and get your used one. If she doesn't like it, I will get her the one she wants later on. Let me know how you want to complete the transaction.

Texas Tahoe,
I got ya. Picking it up would be easier! And you would be able to see it. As I mentioned it looks ok, especially for the price. It is used! It is the first set of pictures on this thread. It looks perfect from a few feet away. Just up close you can tell it is now brand new.
Anyways, if you want it great! I hope it works out for ya. Do you paypal? It works for me if it works for you!
