I have a 2007 Tahoe with the 3.42 rear axle gears and the 20" tire package. I have not been real pleased with the performance. I am considering changing to a 3.73 or a 4.10 axle. 2 questions, those who have these gears can you give me your rpm at 70 mph for each? Also, the 4.10 was not offered on a 2wd. Would it be possible for the dealer to flash the TCM or PCM for either of these ratios if replaced? I am thinking my local dealer may be the best place to have all the work done for warranty, computer flshes, etc.
Thanks.

To get an idea of what the RPM change will be add 180 RPM to where you're at now for 3.73 and another 180 RPM for the 4.10.
The dealer can flash for the gear-set change, they have to get a new VCI number from Tech-link.
Go for th e 4.10's.
Get out your wallet.

Thanks for your reply. So if I understand, no problem with the 4.10 even though it is not offered in a 2wd?
Thanks
