Is it possible to put the 2007 GMC Yukon Denali Running Boards onto my 07 Tahoe? Would it fit? Do I need to modifiy some of the parts? Basically I am trying to add chrome trimming to the running boards. Is there another cheapier alternative? Any information would be appreciated.

As a matter of fact I just called the GMPDirect about a part number on the running boards as well as a price. Still haven't heard. I have a couple other ideas of whpo to call, I do think however it will be pricey. I want to do the same thing, however the addition of the piece of plastic chrome trim thing which is worth about 5$ will cost us big. The only difference in the step boards is this piece, which I have been told on here can not be ordered seperately. I considered painting mine, saw the body guy I've known for years who does EXCELLENT work, and he said he would do it, but explained that due to the type of plastic surface these are made of which are made to resist wear and stain, even if he sands the heck out of it and covers them with the paint adhereing primer substance, he believes they will chip over time especially if he leaves the top portion black which one would. He suggested leaving them, especially in the winter. If you live in a place like Phoenix, this may work for ya.
let ya know when I hear something

It seems those are different than the factory tahoe boards. Can anyone confirm they are not 100% exact same shape? Seems they are shorter and dont extend as far towards front and rear wheels???

They aren't the same size. I checked with the dealer.

There is an extra grove "channel" where it locks into place. Dam GM...making us work even harder for the stuff we want.

according to the GMC website for the latest changes (seems they are constantly making changes as production continues) the assist steps for the Denali are COLOR KEYED with chrome insert. The site says the YUKON now will have COLOR KEYED steps w/o chrome accent. Also, I'm not sure what the deal in the pic of that thread is but the board does look shorter than ANY Yukon or Denali I have seen. When I find a Denali on the lot somewhere with the color keyed running boards, I will get the VIN and get a prt number, if anyone else happens to see one on a lot, grab the VIN and PM it to me! Thanks!

I agree, the picture in that ebay post is not for the correct board! Or at least it seems to me it is shorter than anything I have seen on ANY 2007 tahoe, yukon, etc. Seems well shorter than all others?

Check out the cover of DUB magazine from a few months ago, it is a celebs White Hoe with Painted Denali Boards on it. Two things I take from that pic, they can be put on and they are as long as the Tahoe, Yukon just with added chrome accent. If anyone sees a Denali with the painted running boards, throw it on here.. Just curious if they are coming out of the factory like that yet. Did ZX give up on us? Haven't heard from CSI Dave in a while!!!
Also, I have a present for you guys....Just from me for Christmas!!
Check out the link....
http://www.owens-pro.com/glastepview.php?key=391 Good stuff! I am awaiting a response from them for price. They have to be painted.

Well
biglg doesn't know what he's talking about! They run from the rear of the front wheel opening to the front of the rear wheel opening. I happen to be the owner of the Denali running boards that are on eBay and I can tell you they were taken off of my 2007 Denali by the dealer and I will be glad to provide the name of the dealer to anyone who doubts that they are indeed the original, factory, OEM running boards! I also have photo's of the stock Denali with the boards on it in the dealer's lot. It's the same picture (only cropped) that is on eBay. I replaced them with an aftermarket, painted running board that was designed for the 2007 Tahoe. They fit perfectly! Also, painting the factory boards
will not work. The paint will not stick.

And here is a picture of the aftermarket boards that were installed! Again, they were for a Tahoe and they fit perfectly!

Dunracin,
I simply asked if these would fit, i showed you this post where your boards were talked about. I simply stated they seem shorter and dont seem like the correct board. These were simply my opinions from your ONE picture on ebay. This is your email back to me once I directed you to this link.
"Well your stating on the forum that they are not the factory boards because they are shorter is complete bullshit. Here are two pictures, one of the stock Denali on the dealer's lot with the factory boards that I am selling on it. The second is the aftermarket boards for a Tahoe that were installed on the Yukon Denali. They fit perfectly! Again, I have done this and here are the pictures. If you haven't done it, don't voice your opinion like an expert!"
Well good luck selling your boards. I am not interested. But I do appreciate the pictures of the painted boards. I would love to know where you got them.
Burnsze,
Thanks for the link. I wonder if the factory OEM mud flaps will fit with those boards. It doesnt look possible does it? Pleas let me know when you find out how much they are. Thanks for the find!

The Owens boards cost about $379.00 unpainted an do not use the factory mounting hardware!

Thanks for the info on the painted boards. This has been discussed many times and I am glad the info is now out!

One other thing. Can you please tell us what the difference is on the Owens boards compared to the facotry tahoe boards that allow the Owens to be painted and why the factory boards cant be?

FYI, we help each other out here, that's what we do. When I asked you where you got your aftermarket boards, I wanted to pass it on and help out my 'friends' here who have helped me out in the past. Just a bit of info on how things work here.
big, My body shop guy told me there is a special coating on the plastic designed to resist dirt, road oil, tar, etc. from adhereing to the plastic, also will prevent it from fading over time as older oem plastic did in the 80s and early 90s. This coating resists painting, it will adhere initially but will not stand up to the elements and flake. That's what he told me, and he's very talented and knowledgeable.
Happy Holidays Gentlemen...

Hey DUNRACIN,
Do you still have those boards for sale?

This is a funny story. There was over a day left on the auctions. He ended them early and I emailed him and ask why. He basically said:
"I am sick of ebay, they let someone retract a bid when they shouldnt have. Ebay has made him mad and he will just throw all the parts in the trash!"
HAHAHAHA

I just saw a Yunkon Denali up close yesterday. The factory boards are slightly different in that they curve back more sharply than the ones on the Tahoe. The Tahoe comes out more square and that's why the Hoes look bigger/longer. The Yukons look EXACTLY like the ones posted here by
dunracin .

I emailed the guy he wants $325 including shipping. I offered himi $250 including shipping and he said that if he doesnt get what he wants, then he will throw them away. Sounds to me like a little boy not getting his way and he is going to pout.
