Does anybody here know how to disable this system? I did it in my 05 Dakota by inserting and removing the seat belt three times within 60 seconds of starting the motor, then turning off the truck. Any ideas on how this is down for the 06 Impala?

You could just obey the law and wear your seatbelt.

Or, I could ignore the chime while driving piss drunk, on my cell phone, at 30 miles over the speed limit through school zones. I guess there's a lot of things I could do.

if u plan on keeping the car for a while u could take out the seat and unplug or cut the wires that go the part of the belt on the floor. iv done that with most of the cars iv had with no ill efects. and to gm01 i dont go more then 5 feet without my belt but i hate the sound of that chime to.

i agree..i would cut the tires going to the sensor...
while you should always wear your seatbelt, i understand your hatred of these stupid buzzers.

Actually I find all their responses rather amusing. I find it funny how I ask a technical question, and these two people feel the need to respond the way they did rather than help out. Didn't your mommies tell you not to say anything if you had nothing nice to say?

after all that did you find a way to disable it?

Unfortunately no, but luckily I'm not the everyday driver of the car!

Funny, I never even notice the chimes.
